Who we are

We’re a community of comedians who love comedy, love having fun, and want to make Madrid laugh.

Madrid Comedy Shows brings together local comics and international performers who want to share their comedy with the city.

We organise our own shows, support visiting comedians, and create opportunities for comics to meet, perform, try new ideas, and connect with audiences.

Some nights are small and intimate. Others are bigger, louder, and full of surprises. What matters is bringing people together for a great night of comedy.

We’re here for the comics, the audience, and everyone who believes Madrid deserves great comedy in English.

Every show is in English

All the shows listed on this website are performed in English. Whether you live in Madrid, you’re visiting, or you just like your comedy in English, you’re in the right place.

Our shows

No Offense, But... is not your average comedy night: stand-up, live podcast moments, improv, bold opinions and total chaos on stage. Hosted by Mehdi Mahtaj.

The Arab and the Jew was created by Mehdi Mahtaj and Rachel Arieff. It mixes comedy, politics, personal stories and an honest conversation about Palestine.

Performing in Madrid?

We also help comedians who are coming to Madrid and want to put on a show in English. Tell us about your show and we’ll help you look for the right room.

Who runs it

Madrid Comedy Shows is run by Mehdi Mahtaj, a comedian and producer based in Madrid. Mehdi also founded Madrid Comedy Festival, but the two are separate projects: the festival is its own international event with its own website, and Madrid Comedy Shows is where we put on our own comedy nights in the city.

Where we play

We don’t own a venue. Our current home is Off Latina, a theatre bar at Calle Mancebos, 4, in La Latina.
